Day 2: all the furniture has been moved over, but the move is far from over. There is still much to do! While Alex was waking kiddo up to get ready for school, she continued to work on the closet, putting kiddo’s hangers on the suspension bars. Then it was time to take kiddo to school and then get to work herself. Things resumed after work with Alex, stiff as a marble statue, but going full-steam with intense determination to get this done.
Alex first cleared out and boxed up her belongings in her old bathroom, placing the boxes on the upper landing of the stairs, outside the bedroom. But before that, she went downstairs and deep cleaned underneath the sink in the cabinets in HH’s bathroom, as there were items currently in her bathroom, that would need to go under his sink in his bathroom. It didn’t take too incredibly long, which was good, and she could remain sitting as she cleaned.
Once that was finished, she headed back upstairs to her own bathroom and deep cleaned the cabinets, drawers, countertop, faucets, sink and toilet, also doing a good sweep of the tile floor. Kiddo was home from school at this point, so Alex was having her clear out her old bathroom and move the boxes into the upper landing area. When kiddo had emptied her bathroom (the tubs are the exception at this point), Alex told her to begin putting her things in the cabinets of her new bathroom, while she went to clean out the rest of the items kiddo left behind in her old one.
This took Alex a little while, since she was becoming more sore and the toilet is placed in front of two of the cabinets and it is a bit difficult to access them. But she eventually had all the cabinets and drawers cleaned out. Now it was time to deep clean the toilet, sink, faucets, countertop, drawers and cabinets, plus sweep the floor. Alex got all of that taken care of, but there were some places on the floor behind the toilet that needed to be cleaned by hand, which meant she had to get down on her hands and knees to scrub.
When all of that was taken care of, she brought her own two boxes into the bathroom to place and arrange them how she felt looked best. That was the easy part. The bathroom linens were placed in the cabinets above the washer and dryer in the laundry room, as there was no room for them in the new bathroom, due to limited space. HH came in a short while later and placed some pee pads under the litter box next to the toilet and behind the litter box, taped to the wall, while Alex went to kiddo’s new closet and moved the items on the top shelf over to her new closet, arranging them nicely.
Day 2 of moving was now complete, but there was still much to do the next day.
